Northeast Illinois HMIS & Upgrade Survival Kit
We are live! The merger of Dupage County's HMIS is complete and the name of our HMIS has changed. We are now the Northeast Illinois HMIS! We have talked about it for over a year and it is finally here and live! Thanks to Tyler Rosensteel, Julie Tremberth, and everyone at Bowman Systems who have stuck it out the last few months. We are excited to be moving forward with you!
Thanks also for the patience of our users! We know this hasn't been easy for you and there's a lot of catching up to do, so thank you for all you do!
Also, the new HUD Data Standards went into effect October 1 and the system is now upgraded for those standards. Effective October 1, 2014, HUD requires all CoC agencies using HMIS to follow the new HMIS Data Standards relased in May of 2014. These data standards define what data elements need to be collected by the various project types of our Continuum including Emergency and Transitional Shelter, Permanent Supportive Housing, Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Projects to name a few.
The new HMIS Data Standards changes a few of the current data elements and adds some brand new data elements that need to be collected for all active clients as of October 1, 2014. To help with the data collection the HMIS team has put together a Quick Reference Document (download below) that highlights the important changes. It is not exhaustive (use the Data Standards Manual linked above) but will help HMIS users see the changes quickly and hopefully help them to more quickly adapt.
