HUD requires us to conduct a Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of sheltered homeless persons in Suburban Cook County on a specified date during the last ten days of January.  If your agency provided shelter or housing, housing vouchers, motel vouchers or rapid re-housing assistance to homeless persons on the night of Wednesday, January 27, 2016, please complete the online 2016 Housing Inventory Count & Point-In-Time Count (HIC & PIT) by clicking on the link below.

The deadline for completing the survey is 5:00 pm, March 21, 2016.

Non-HMIS Participants or SSVF/ESG Funded Rapid Re-Housing Providers

Both Non-HMIS and SSVF/ESG Rapid Re-housing providers need to complete both Forms A and B, of the online 2016 Housing Inventory Count & Point-In-Time Count.  Rapid Re-Housing providers should include only those persons housed in Suburban Cook County with rapid re-housing funds on the night of January 27, 2016.

HMIS Participants and CoC Funded Rapid Rehousing Providers

HMIS participants and CoC Funded Rapid Rehousing providers will complete only Form A of the online 2016 Housing Inventory Count & Point-In-Time Count, however submission will require an attached PDF copy of the ART report “0630-SubCook-Sheltered PIT 2016 NO Detail-3-6-2016” for the project.

In order to assemble all responses from the Suburban Cook County Continuum-of-Care, and make a timely submission to HUD, we would appreciate your submission as soon as possible, but no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, March 21, 2016.

An instructional webinar can be scheduled if Providers need additional assistance in completing the 2016 HIC & PIT.  Please email Lynn@suburbancook.org if you think this would benefit your team.

If you have any questions, or need assistance, contact your Alliance HMIS team (Lynn (x07), Jeremy (x03), or Peggy (x02)   (708) 236-3261).  Thank you for your prompt attention to this critical matter!

  3. A spreadsheet with two tabs—one tab is a list of programs expected to be included in the final count and housing inventory; the other is a point-in-time count generated from HMIS for the night of January 27, 2016.  For HMIS users, this reflects the data as it currently exists in HMIS.  If this data is not correct, you will need to correct the data in HMIS so that your “0630-SubCook-Sheltered PIT 2016 NO Detail-3-6-2016” report is accurate.
